Freemont, OH t0 Howard, PA: 317 miles
Well we did it! We successfully completed our cross-country motorcycle journey. We crossed back into the great Commonwealth around 9:00am.
We arrived at Doug's house just a couple minutes after noon. Here are two celebratory pics:
Gumby was excited as well:
Final stats for the trip:
Total mileage: 7,300
States visited: 18
Songs listened to on the iPod: 1,863
Oil changes: 2
Pictures taken: 1,233
Time zones covered: 4
Gallons of gas: ~146
It is difficult to put into words all that we will take away from this trip. We met dozens of very nice people and have a wealth of memories and stories that we will cherish forever. We both grew in many different ways over the course of the trip.
We want to thank everyone who supported us throughout our journey. We also want to thank everyone who followed us on our blog. A special shout out to everyone who left messages for us.
Crossing our country has opened our eyes in many ways. We don't want to get too philosophical here, but we urge all of you reading this to get out and experience our country and most importantly our National Parks. They truly are our treasures.
It is time for rest and relaxation....especially for our asses.
Thanks again guys and we will see you down the road...
Welcome home fellows! I was glad to hear that you got to Doug's before the afternoon thunderstorm. Was it fun to thumb your noses at it from inside? As you stated, you have made memories to reflect upon for years to come.

Welcome home men. Congratulations on your journey. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I am a little disappointed though. Knowing how Doug likes to take photos on trips, I had the over/under for the number of photos taken at about 2000. I guess I would have lost that bet :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back safe and sound! We enjoyed hearing about the day's sights and reliving some of the places you got to see. Take care and enjoy the rest of the summer!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back guys! I have really enjoyed your blog. I found myself eager to check your progress each and every day. I also found myself wishing I was with you!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent writing and excellent photos.....
Congratulations!!!

Congratulations! on both a safe trip and the life-changing impact this has made on you both. I've enjoyed following along on each stage; can't say I'd want to be in the saddle for that long though! Can't wait to hear just some of the stories you guys have.
